As part of his official visit to Armenia, the Armenia Stock Exchange and Central Depository welcomed the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda. The main purpose of the visit was to learn about the operations and development strategy of the exchange and depository, as well as to explore the potential of Armenia’s financial market. The visit holds special significance as the exchange has been part of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) Group since 2022.
During his visit, Andrzej Duda toured the AMX office, where he was introduced to the exchange’s current activities, key projects, and future plans. Following the tour, a closed meeting took place, during which the parties discussed new opportunities for developing Armenia’s financial infrastructure and potential areas for expanding cooperation.
“Our partnership with the Warsaw Stock Exchange promotes international integration and enhances the efficiency of Armenia’s financial markets. This is an important step for the Armenian capital market, enabling the implementation of European practices and stimulating economic growth,” said Hayk Yeganyan, CEO of AMX Group.
In 2022, the Central Bank of Armenia and the Warsaw Stock Exchange signed an agreement to sell a controlling stake in the Armenia Stock Exchange. Since then, numerous initiatives have been implemented to develop the financial market, diversify services, and integrate with European capital markets.
